This website is primarily designed to communicate with the members of the Kaimuki Chapter of the Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association ("HBDA"). We give lessons in American Style Dance on Monday nights and International Style Dance on Tuesday nights. Classes are given at the Kilauea District Park on Kilauea Avenue at 20th Avenue. (Click here for map.) We invite visitors to this website to join our chapter.
Dances are held twice a month at the Palladium (Ala Wai Golf Course Clubhouse). The first Saturday is usually a special function, such as the Telemark Ball, Anniversary Ball, Inaugural Ball, Masquerade Ball. The third Friday is usually Ohana Night, which is free to all current HBDA students. In addition, there are elegant dance functions held on all the islands and Las Vegas -- typically in first class hotel ballrooms.
HBDA exists to promote ballroom dancing in Hawaii. It gives lessons year-round all over the state of Hawaii. In addition to chapters throughout Oahu, HBDA has three chapters on the Big Island and one on Maui. It teaches both American and International style. Visit the websites of other chapters by the links in the navigation bar. Follow the link to the main HBDA website for more information on other chapters.
