members to the chapter and also welcomes back the past members for more classes.
The Tuesday night classes at work, everybody looks GREAT! (don't believe? Look
below.) It just takes practice, practice, practice, patience, and, more practice (for
some, might still need more practice but, one day, we'll all be great dancers. - Still
don't believe? ask John & Karen, the instructors.
Let's see now, what do we do next?

Watch! this is how its done

May 7th 2011 - Dancing with the Stars. Aiea Chapter members did the decorations
for the stage and the reception table and look at what a wonderful job they did! Just
think how much hot air it took to blow all those balloons up. Thanks Kuulei for all the balloons.
She even brought the air to blow up them up so that we wouldn't need to ask anyone for hot
air for the balloons. Otherwise, it would have taken the wind out of everyone and no one
would have been able to dance much afterwards. But, as things turned out, everything went
perfect and everyone had a grand time - even the workers! THANKS TO ALL THE
OFFICERS AND MEMBERS of Aiea for the beautiful decorations that night! Even the
routines by the different "stars" were enjoyable!

Aug 6th 2011 - 52nd Anniversary Ball at the Ala Wai Clubhouse Palladium. Aiea Chapter
participated along with Ala Wai, Kaimuki, and Kailua Chapter members in the program by
performing a romantic rumba routine that was choreographed by their instructors John and
Karen Kotake - and to think some people thought we couldn't dance! Boy, did we show
them! The Aiea participants were Mitch & Karen Chong, Lou Chang & Elaine Flores, John
Kotake & Kuulei Young, Darin Yamamoto & Diane Kawamoto, Karen Kotake, Diane Chinen &
Reed Sekiya, Yvonne & Mike Haxton, Leslie & Bill Wynhoff, Cate Critz & Robert Schiff.
Good Show everyone! Remember, practice does make perfect - now, when's the next one?
Where's the food? We're ready!
|
Burning calories after eating! They call it dancing

August 22, 2011-End Qtr2 Potluck. Enjoy!! Our
President Kuulei began the potluck by saying grace.
The Monday & Tuesday night classes shared the
potluck event. On behalf of the chapter, instructors
John & Karen Kotake presented Stanley & Carolyn
Yim a beautiful orchid plant in appreciation of him
helping with the website & her taking the pictures.
Both instructors were also thanked by the chapter
for teaching them the many dances during the
quarter. The Kotakes will take a well earned trip in
September and then return for the 3rd quarter.
